What a summer this has been! I kicked off this summer recovering from dental surgery as I had to have all four of my wisdom teeth removed. After a month off from performances I returned to the stage. Due to the surgery I thought it best to limit my performances as I did not know what to expect taking a whole month off. I took advantage of my light schedule and piled on my course load in college so that I could accomplish my goal of graduating this year.
I was short one credit for my physical education so I decided to take water aerobics. Taking this class was life changing. Not only did I have fun working out in the water (who wouldn't) I began to lose weight. Since taking this class I have lost 20 lbs and 2 1/2 inches off of my waist. I made some incredible friends and great memories.
In July, I made the bold move to get braces! The pain isn't so bad, but it does feel weird to have stuff in my mouth and absolutely can't stand the feeling I get after I eat. Needless to say I find myself brushing my teeth quite frequently and I know that in a year and half all of this will be worth it.
August has been a very memorable and bittersweet month for me as I finally graduated from college. I now have my Associates Degree in Liberal Arts. I plan on continuing with my education as I will be starting classes again next week and I hope to graduate with my Bachelors Degree in Communication in a year and half.
In between school and all of my dental work, I have been writing songs for my new record coming out at the end of this year. I am very excited about this project as I will be writing a majority of the songs with my good friend and arranger, Mike Gregory. Mike did most of the arranging on "Love Me Alone". We always have tons of fun when we are together so be on the look out for some behind the scenes footage!
Overall this has been an amazing summer full of change and growth! I can't wait to see what the rest of the year has in store!
